retro lettering for the poster of the Cincinnati Comic Expo 2011.
This is my lettering for the poster for the Cincinnati Comic Expo 2011. The assignment was to mimic the aesthetics of the cover of Wonder Woman No 253, because they were going to order the drawing José Delbo, the artist of that comic in question.
The challenge was, above all, maintain the aesthetics of logo drawn to the old style, with its imprefecciones. So, I avoided using professional typography and have drawn on the letter at a computer from the original. Extrusion is also a craft, and I distorted depending on the needs of the logo, as on the cover of WW .
Pearl I have been having spent a decade doing logos for Rotring pen and Forum.
Last year we also labeled the poster for the Cincinnati Comic Expo, as seen in this post . Although at that time was to mimic the cover of a comic book Golden Age .
